Open to all!
According to Buddhism, to experience reality we need to go beyond the intellectual and listen with our heart, body and mind. We need to bring our whole being, and even quieten rational thought from time to time - not a popular view in our 'heady' Western culture!
Ritual and mantra are two ways we can evoke something beautiful and inspiring, to open our heart and see beyond the ordinary. By connecting with something rich and creative we can allow our being to engage with something transformative. If we can let our guards down, even for a moment, we start to see things as they really are.
Over two weeks, we will be looking at our connection to ritual and the journey this practice takes us on. We will also explore mantra and how it contributes to devotional practice.
Who are these sessions for?
These sessions are open to all. While a basic understanding of Buddhist devotional practice is beneficial, it is not necessary to be inspired by these sessions.
What do these sessions cost?
All our classes offering Buddhist teaching are by donation, because we believe that the Buddha's teachings should be freely given. We recommend a donation of £10 / £8 (concession rate) per class, but we welcome you however much you can afford to give.
